Time to Analyze Your Business

We are in Nashville this week visiting some family and enjoying some time away. So, while we are here I wanted to take some time away and write a blog post about our recent successes and how I got to this point.

Let’s start with the end in mind. WE PUT 4 HOUSES UNDER CONTRACT WHILE I HAVE BEEN HERE IN NASHVILLE BY THE POOL!  (Don’t tell my team I’m sitting by the pool please!)

If you have read my blog before today you know that I have recently SCALED my business and put systems in place to allow me to do MORE deals and spend LESS time doing them. So, the question becomes HOW?

I have also written about surrounding yourself with people who a really crushing it and doing the same things you WANT to do. “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with,” right? I have been lucky enough to become friends and learn from Justin Williams over the last year or so. He is the Systems Guy and flips a LOT of houses.

So, who better to learn from than the guy who has put these systems in place in his business that allows him to step out and do the things he WANTS to do? The best part of this idea to me is that he gets to live his life while his business is still operating without him.

If you have ever read the 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, pick it up today and you will see the idea of running a business that doesn’t need YOU to operate.

I will say, I have been working hard to get to this point and I am still not there. But, if I looked at what I was doing last year and compared it to what I am doing this year, the difference is STAGGERING!

So, if you’re in this business or trying to get into this business, I would start with the end in mind. If your business isn’t what you want it to be or isn’t systemized yet I would recommend you ask yourself these 3 questions:

  1. Is it because your business isn’t scaling, and you don’t know how to fix it?
  2. Is it because it just takes you too long to flip a single house, let alone 50+ in a year?
  3. Or is it because you haven’t created the systems that allow you to truly grow and scale your business?
